- I don't expect serial SCSI (fibre channel etc.) to be affordable when the
- PPC Amiga comes out but how about LVDS?
- The LVDS (Low Voltage Differential Sensing) standard will (according to
- c't magazine (www.ix.de, mostly in german) 5/96) be cheaper for host
- adapters and disk controllers because the bus drivers can be integrated
- into the SCSI chips. Transfer rates between 40 and 80 MB/s are possible
- and cable length can be between 12 and 30 meters with max. 15 devices.
- I think that would make a nice LAN, too. Just don't forget to make
- the next scsi.device more flexible: I want a SANA2 interface ...
- If one disk is used by several Amigas there could be separate paritions
- for normal use and shared partitions with a new filesystem which can be
- mounted by more than one machine :-)
